(It involves lots of relaxing)
This post is sponsored by Peccadilly. All reviews and opinions are my own. I only share products I use and love.
It’s the time of year when everyone is busy, everything is fast paced, and you probably feel like you need a break. No matter if you’re spending Christmas with relatives or prepping for a New Year’s party with friends, everyone needs a little “me” time this season.
What’s the best way to do that? Get a little relaxation preparation. That’s why I always do these 7 things to help me destress and prepare for the holidays.
1. Throw on a comfy sweater and stay in bed a little longer than usual.
(Or a lot longer). This off the shoulder sweater from Peccadilly is my new favorite thing ever. It’s really comfy and I’m obsessed with the lace up detail. And to top it all off, the bell sleeves are to die for!
2. Enjoy some coffee.
Or if that’s not your thing, have some hot chocolate or tea. Just grab some sort of warm beverage because they’re calming and comforting.
3. Put some fresh flowers in your room.
Just having them will make you feel more lively, I guarantee it. And they smell lovely too!
4. Paint your nails.
My nails can pretty much always use a color update, so this is a common practice for me. Plus it’s always so satisfying to have a fresh coat!
5. Practice that holiday makeup routine
Part of the stress of the holidays is worrying about what you’ll wear or how you should do your makeup. If you get a head start, you’ll feel a lot more relaxed. I tried out this Mooi Lab lipgloss to glam up my party look, and I’m in love. It’s the perfect mauve shade to go over my Maybelline Touch of Spice lipstick .
6. Play around on your phone.
Sometimes we all need a little brain drain. Browse Instagram, scroll Reddit, or play a game. Whatever it is that relaxes you, do it.
7. Light a scented candle.
I was nervous about getting this Dark Tides candle by Basalt online. You never know what you’re going to get with candle scents. But the packaging was adorable and the scent description sounded amazing, so I went for it. And I wasn’t let down. This is honestly the most amazing scented candle I have ever smelled–EVER. It’s addictive. Plus it comes in a cute little paint can with a metal tool to help pop the lid off. And let me just say, nothing is more soothing than a cedar aroma filling the room.
