All natural organic products for healthy skin.
This post is sponsored by Puristry. All reviews and opinions are my own. I only share products I use and love.
Today I’m switching gears. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything beauty related, so this is way overdue. And to be honest, I’ve been so busy recently that I’ve been neglecting my skin. I needed some major skin rehab, and Puristry, an Anthropologie exclusive, was there to the rescue. I don’t know about you, but I associate Anthropologie with luxury, high-end candles, soaps, lotions, and skincare items, so you know it has to be good.
What makes Puristry so special? To start, Puristry is the chemistry of pure ingredients. Founder Susie Wang spent years researching and developing unique plant-based formulas. The ingredients she puts together come from a deep understanding of what works well together and what does not–and the result is targeted nutrition for your skin.
Unlike other skincare lines out there that throw a bunch of complex and unrecognizable chemicals in their products, Puristry sticks to the basics. You’ll only find natural, pure ingredients. And as if that wasn’t enough, every single product in the Puristry line is USDA certified organic. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Two of my favorite Puristry products are the Yerba Mate Eye Cream and the Nopal Cactus Cleanser.
Yerba Mate Eye Cream
When I first applied the Yerba Mate Eye Cream, I was unsure how I felt about it. The cream burned ever so slightly when I put it around my eyes. But by the second application I was sold. I actually grew to love the burn because it’s invigorating and let’s me know the product is working. The feeling is comparable to putting on minty fresh chapstick. The cream stays put long after the initial application and I can feel it moisturizing my skin throughout the day. My favorite part is that the cream wakes me up and helps to reduce the puffiness and dark circles under my eyes. All that discoloration and inflammation is really just a lack of circulation. Because yerba mate is caffeine rich, it stimulates circulation and restores blood flow to the eye area.
With ingredients like shea butter, coconut oil, grape seed oil, honeysuckle flower extract, bergamot fruit oil, cedarwood bark oil, vetiver root oil, sage oil, and lavender oil, what’s not to love?
The only negative is that I wish it was in a bigger bottle. Thankfully, a little goes a long way. So I’m pleased to say this will last a little longer than I anticipated.
Nopal Cactus Cleanser
First of all, the Nopal Cactus Cleanser just sounds amazing and exotic. That’s what initially caught my eye. But when I actually used the product, it exceeded my expectations. It applied smoothly and was so gentle that I could even rinse my eyelids without worrying about stinging. When it comes to face wash I have sensitive eyes, and I usually have to avoid that area at all costs. But Puristry is different. I can finally scrub off my mascara without ending up with bright red, burning eyes. One of the most exciting things is that, even with just a few uses, I have noticed my complexion is evening out and my skin is glowing. This is, in part, due to the vitamin-packed yuzu citrus. It washes away dull, lifeless skin, revealing a refreshed and glowing complexion.
This formula is derived from the nopal cactus, which is renowned for its deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory, and skin-calming properties. The cleanser contains ingredients such as aloe water, honeysuckle flower extract, prickly pear extract, orange oil, sage oil, green tea leaf extract, and yuzu seed extract.
The only downside is that I have a hard time lathering up the cleanser. The directions say to dispense a quarter size in wet hands, lather, and apply to a wet face. In my experience it just doesn’t lather up enough. Once I apply it to my face, there doesn’t seem to be enough product to continue massaging for 30 seconds-1 minute like I prefer to do with cleansers. It sort of just goes on and stays on. Maybe it doesn’t need to be massaged in to be effective or maybe it just absorbs quickly. Either way, I’m still pleased because I can see results!
The scent of the entire Puristry skincare line is absolutely incredible. You’re only supposed to use the products in the morning and at night, but I’ll admit I’ve got my nose buried in them throughout the day. When it’s actually time to to use the products I get so excited. It’s like putting a mini spa on my face. Seriously! The smell is so soothing and calming that it literally makes me feel like I’ve entered an aromatherapy session. The scent alone makes it obvious that Puristry is packed with vitalizing ingredients.
I’m obsessed with these 2 products from Puristry and can’t wait to get my hands on the rest of the skincare line. Combined, the 6 Puristry products are all you need for a complete skincare routine. So what are you waiting for? Pamper your face and treat yourself to healthy, glowing skin.
